Reading news papers in the morning seem irrelevant. Listening to music is out of question specially when Yo Yo Honey Singh is teaching us the new a b c . Life keeps churning its wheel between the to do list . The politicians have let us down , so has the cricket team overseas and movies is out of question , Bollywood is retarded , melodrama to no drama is absolutely big no. Life is on a big time holt between office , fast food ,shopping malls and online sales. All the self help books are biting dust.Listening hardship to raising a new born does put me in a fix. Just want to pull my hairs and scream , unfortunately have a military cut . Some times the petrol prices freak me , some times the increase in rent puts my heart in my mouth , some times phone bills make me crazy . Shaving and saving seems to be relevant things these days. Worsening traffic wants me to pierce dagger through my heart , don’t know about the anguish of proud owner of four wheelers and the mileage of there vehicles. In the evenings , in fact night once back from work as a zombie , find a little solace in cooking shows since most of news channel will make you pull a bullet to your temple . And If accidentally one find’s oneself alone then one can ponder about , why is he/she is here ? what is the purpose of life ? . Is one spiritual or atheist or religious , since hardly we are afraid of GOD , anymore. With evolution of us , humans , we have understood we need connections , contacts , money and booze and things can be taken care off , besides an updated LinkedIn profile. Finally the ritual of browsing FB is on decline since other people have fatigue of sharing there personal life on FB . Life seems chaos , can we fart about it. Hope there is life beyond EMIs and bigger smart phones.
Have just returned home after watching another police flick in Hindi. And it is Rowdy Rathore , this time.It is quite surprising and disappointing as well ,that how many times can we as an audience accept the same story with a different packaging ? Be it the lead actors and production houses. And the story goes something like this , there is a police wala and a gunda . The Police wala is devoted and honest police officer and not like others in the department, who wag there tails , behind the Gunda, who either is an politician or going to become one. And who can forget the item songs , in each of these movies. Be it Munni Badanam hui too many others. It is quite difficult to understand ,that who isn’t mature . The production houses or we the audience or both. Unfortunately , to us the cinema is just means of Entertainment. There are hardly movies made ,which leave an impression on our minds. I have seen a few . Into the wild ,No man’s land and The Pianist and few more to mention. Our recent cinema has been the epitome of glamor and pinch of sleaziness .Our obsession with politics reflects in the movies from RVG’s banner, Department , Rann and the list goes on and on. We need more movies like Delhi belly, Dev D and Beja Fry . It is high time that the film makers evolve . There evolution is essential in story telling. Even a movie like Vicky Donor on a sensitive subject of a sperm donor was made with lightness but could have been trimmed further. The mind set of filmmakers about duration of the movies needs tuning . The melodrama , specially towards the end of the movie, actually kills it.The timing of the songs and purpose , are questionable to a large extend. And used as an opportunity to off load the bladder . To conclude , I am not a movie critic or a movie buff or even remotely a fan of an actor . I love to laugh and comedies, the sensible one’s are hard to come by. It is high time , that the script writers are paid hefty fees or at par that of actors, to be truly creative ,rather then settling for the re-make versions or re-cycling .The only argument one can make is the treatment of each movie was different ,despite of having similar story line. The sequel of Dabangg is to follow soon. And possibly entertainment have a triumph over impression. When shall there be a statutory warning about the re-cycled movies are injurious to health of movie goers.

It is not a new sight to see people selling pirated music and films. one can be amazed , a movie which was released on friday is available with the hawker. There are numerous reason for piracy to survive and thrive.
1.In my home town Jodhpur , a few years back , if one had to see a English movie, one had no other choice but to rely on the video shops ,renting movies (pirated) . Though a few English movies exhibited in theaters were dubbed in Hindi.
2.Recently a Hindi movie called Baand Baja Bharat , was released. On a week off day , like this one (Thursday). I wanted to see the movie and cost (which I checked on website of multiplex) was Rs 500 per ticket. The multiplex uses differential pricing. And if one wants to munch something then it will cost another Rs 120 or so. The tickets are priced differently depending on the time of the show. So if a family of 3-4 wants to watch a new movie , then one may need to spend anywhere from Rs 1000-2500 approx.
3.The shelf life of music specially of movies is having the most shortest span ( particularly , Hindi music,of which I am aware to an extent) A music cd , will cost about Rs 170 or so. And to our surprise or disappointment a track or two are the best and rest of the stuff is either ok or just forgettable.
4. The sales of music is also getting affected largely because now the way of listening has changed . It is either digital( laptops , desktops) or music on ipods /mobile phones .
5.piracy exist because the producers of movie ( I can say so about Hindi movies) spend millions of Rs on lavish sets, costumes, item nos ( Munni Badnam huvi darling tera liya) foreign shooting and over priced stars and to find the movie didn’t had a story at all .Recently I happen to see a 3rd in series of a famous franchise in Hindi movie, which was suppose to be a comdey but fact is it was quite boring, lousy .And that movie was declared a Hit.The last movie I remember with a good story was Rocket Singh.
6.piracy is here to rule. In era of multiplex , the audience is a niche segment.More over a movie even before it is released books profits by selling music rights, television rights, overseas release rights, release rights in local market, product placements in movies and lastly the movie rights on DVDs, VCDs format. To a producer may be his movie is a product and on which he has booked his profits.
7.Recently 3 idiots ( Hindi movie) was released on DVD . And the collectors edition was only launched with price tag of Rs 550/600. And at the same time the movie was also been shown by one of the cable channel. Then the movie was released on regular edition with price tag of Rs 300 or so.While the original release took a few months and the hawkers were selling the same from next few days of release of movie.
Lastly as a nation, we have not understood the concept of the INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY , including myself. To us the movies are nothing but a lousy way of entertainment with some Naach, Gaana , todha dekha , todha sarmana. And the regular bolloywood stuff.
” IT DOES NOT HURT US BECAUSE WE ARE NOT THE OWNERS OF THE COPYRIGHT , WHICH WE VIOLATE.AND THE OWNER MAY NOT FEEL THE PAIN , AS HE MAY NOT CONSIDER MANGO PEOPLE( AMMA ADMI) HIS AUDIENCE”
